History

The Poland is obviously of Eastern European origin from around the 11th or 12th Century. They were popular in Holland in the 15th C and the breed was standardised in the UK in the 1850s.
Characteristics
It’s crest is its crowning glory. Passionate breeder Terry Beebe calls them royalty – cheeky friends call them feather dusters.
There are some 14 basic colours of Poland and they are beautiful birds to look at.
They need taking goo dcare of- they are high maintainence birds. Avoid getting the crest wet or dirty, so don’t use open drinkers. They shouldn’t be kept with non crested birds as they will be at a disadvantage.
Pellets are clener than mash for them
