Chickens don’t like being moved locations much – it stresses them out, so they stop laying for a while. That’s why there are no henneries!
When we go away we get a friend/next door neighbour to come over and feed them in exchange for eggs. Our run is fox-proof so they don’t need to lock the hens in the coop – but you may need them to pop in to “lock up” first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
